This post has NOTHING to do with 3d porn whatsoever (sorry about that, i will post at least 3 3D updates today anyways…). It has everything to do with surfing to porn sites anonymously, without the risk of losing your job, or being jailed (i tought this was important enough to share with my loyal visitors)!!!
Today, i'm talking about security… I recently studied a little bit about the subject since my employer decided to start monitoring all my internet traffic, so i could no longer check my private mail, or look at my statistics for this website without basically telling my employer i'm running an adult-only website (bummer).
Did you know even your employer, ISP or country might be logging everyting you do on the internet.?
Also, all the porn websites you visit log your private details to use as they please (even I log your details, as described in my privacy policy,… I only use them to find out if my site needs improvement tough)…
One quick-and-dirty way around this last problem is using a free proxy service like hide my ass… This service hides your private details for the website you're visiting. It does not, however, protect you from your employer, your isp or your country logging to which websites you surfed…
The only real way to go (in case you live in a country where porn is prohibited, or want to surf to porn from your work pc) is to start using a VPN sollution… There are several (even free ones) around the net today, i just finished testing several and i want to discuss the tor network and private tunnel.
The Tor network is a completely free VPN-like service… It creates a tunnel around 1 browser session, encrypting everything you visit from WITHIN that one browser.
The downside is that Tor is run by several different companys and idividuals (and I personally don't trust private companys that do something completely for free) and Tor is SLOW (not ideal for porn surfing 😉 )
Private Tunnel is offering a completely free 100Mb trial (no credit card required), they charge a little bit of money on a pay-what-you-use basis (only if you manually take action after the trial, no automatic rebills or anything), they're fast and they can run on windows, linux and many other OS's… I find this important since they're the only service offering a free trial so far that i could use on my ubuntu system (if you're experiencing problems, leave a comment and i'll explain things further).
Private Tunnel is a true VPN sollution, meaning that once you start their client ALL internet traffic from and to your pc will be encrypted (not only the traffic from one specific browser like the Tor network) and since you pay for the service, they have to guarantee that they will not misuse your account!
